Hhmmm. I was talking about stock weight. But, sshhhh, the state of Texas thinks mine only weighs 3,900 lbs.

How much does the hood weigh? Couldn't be more than the rear seats could it? I'm just thinking what a fiberglass hood would do for weight

I don't think the hoods all that heavy... maybe like 50lbs or so...

I've never lifted a loose Blazer hood, but way back in the day of making forts and such, when I was like 8 years old, I lifted a hood from an old 80s half-ton truck... So they can't be all that heavy, lol. Just awkward...

Get a carbon fibre hood, lol

For a fairly easy increase in gas mileage, throw on a good air filter or cold air intake, and a good exhaust

If going to the extreme is what you want to take the chance on lol, then there is a company that makes everything carbon fiber for replacement pieces. They make doors, tailgates, hoods, fenders, bumpers, anything you can take off they either have or can make which cuts weight dramatically if that is an option to you. I think there name is carbon works, I was looking into using them on my 99 maxima when i was into racing alot but never went that far!
