A list of common annoying S-10 Blazer quirks.
In Regard to Spark plugs, the impossible ones to get to... the steering column is directly in front of one of them. Well, I had a mechanic come over and he did something I've never seen... he jacked up the engine. He got it out no problem... made me nervous, but the engine hasn't fallen out yet and the guy did a ton of work. I had a leaky intake manifold gasket, bad thermostat, needed plugs and wires replaced... lots of work.
yea..also blazers from 99-03, have a design flaw in the air pump for the secondary air injection system. the design allows water into the pump and eventually fries the electronics in the pump. check out obd2codes website, look up P0410, it will tell you all about it
had a problem with my headlights so i spend $100 on superbright ones still dont work right my gas tank neck leaks and whats up with the spark plugs location bull sh** also how about window seals i have 2 that are bad and leak haha and did you ever try to change door speakers big big pain oo ya i forgot the biggest pain i have no dash lights i had to put lights in my dash so i could c at night go figure other then that lets go 4 wheeling haha
list of things gone bad on my truck in order of happening.
headlight seals bad on both sides
hood doesn't like to release in cold, even after dealership "fixed it" i still slam the door to pop it lol
passenger door electric lock mechanism broke
front brake pads
right rear seat bolt won't stay locked
rear hatch mechanism broke
driver seat padding premature breakdown (i'm 6'3 210lbs, i doubt its my butts fault)
front brake pads
door panels rattle from being removed 3 times
driver side seat bolt rusted to car and had to be cut out by trusted mechanic when my seat belt sensor went bad.
exhaust leak from a bad weld.
center console tab broke under armrest from a 50 pound dog leaning on it.
front brake pads.
just a few other quirks here and there but i wouldn't trade my truck in for anything else.
4 brake jobs since family bought the truck, i'm not mad about it.

Can't say much has gone wrong with mine since I've had it. It's a '98 LT 4x4 with 150k miles on it. The previous owner had a few things replaced before I got it and I don't know what those were but since I've had it I've only had to replace both rear calipers.
However, the sunroof currently doesn't open, one of the bolts holding the driver side door handle on came off (simple fix), needs a new oil pan gasket and main rear seal, security system broke and wouldnt let me start it (has since been disabled), the airbag light is on in the dash which I'm assuming means I have no airbag, and the transmission cooler lines leak oh so slightly.
Quite a few things but nothing major. The oil and tranny fluid both leak incredibly slowly. With the oil it always gets changed before it loses enough to need more and the tranny fluid I've topped off maybe once a year if that.
Sunroof and door handle aren't even a problem. Door handle just looks kinda funny hanging sideways.
BTW: for those of you having trouble with the security not letting you start it, take off your steering column cover and unplug the 3 wires going into the ignition switch. I don't remember which two wires exactly but get a variable resistor and put connect it to both the wires, and turn it until you can start the engine. Record the resistance and put a matching resistor permanently between the two wires. No more security starting problems. =]
