RE: Looking at a blazer, needs engine(buddy has one)
I'm going to look at it in abouta half hour.Let ya guys know what's wrong with it.
It seems that just swapping everything from the 97 into the 95 would be less of a headache.I'm no exactly a pro with engine internals and such.Sure it would take a long time unglugging and remounting everything. But i think it would be easier.
Yet idk. you guys are the blazer experts

Didn't think it was too bad.The guy i'm buying it from said that he was looking for a replacment motor and they wanted around 800 everywhere he tryed.
I'm going to check the motor out once i get the blazer. He said that the fan froze and the motor overheated and he didn't see the gauge in time.Which from what i hear means the head could be warped,or it could just be a thermostat.
The 95 comes home on sunday hopefully. It's in pretty good shape inside and a small dent on the outside which is easily fixable.
I'll take some pictures when i get and and pics of the swap if you guys are intrested.
Edit:If i do need to swap the motors i'm prolly going to be changing the headgasket, intake mani and valve cover gaskets.
Are their any upgrades from the OEM gaskets that aren't overly priced?
