I am looking for a 4.3 vortech for a 98 chevy blazer i am in oklahoma anyone know where i can find one for a resonable price? I am trying to take the motor out and haveing nothing but problems just about ready to sell it oh yeah its 4x4.

A used low mileage engine from the junkyard would be the least expensive. Next would be a local engine builder the swaps out your engine with a already built one and provides a short warranty.

What problems are you having removing the engine. I swapped my engine with no help, but I have a 2WD so I am not sure if the problems your having are related the the transfer case/transmission.

The problems I had were the upper bell housing bolts and the exhausst Y-Pipe bolts. For the bell housing bolts I dropped the rear crossmember and let the engine tilt down and I was able to get at them. The Y-Pipe I ended up breaking some studs. I had to slowly drill out the broken bolt and chase the threads with a tap. I did not damage the existing threads.

Check your local craigslist, I always see 4.3s for a couple hundred in my area and most comes with trannys
