Need help asap!
got a 2001 blazer ignition was giving problems (wouldnt always turn over first try) so i went and got a new ignition switch, well the wiringharness part, and put that in and tried to test fire nothing happened. so i took everything back about and rechecked. after doing this three times still nothing, the batt light stays on as well as the prnd321 all that and the odometer. no security lights are showing. dont know what to do now!
maybe try Kyles https://blazerforum.com/forum/article-submissions-discussions-47/anatomy-ignition-switch-33465/ Anatomy of an Ignition Switch
thanks for the imput but ive already installed a new one now getting it to start is the problem. i dont have keyless entry or security on the vehicle but imma put most of it back together and try the 10 minute thing anyways after i adjust the swith a little more the lights still stay on, on the dash till i wiggle the key so i might be a tooth or so off.
yea im still messing with that now, but everytime i reconnect the batt the lights still come back on on the dash and i hear a humm sound, get in try and crank everything on the dash does like normal still no start any tips on getting everything lined up.
yea stupid me i forgot gears work in opposite directions so once i realized that i got that part fixed lights are good to go but still no start so i left it in the on postition and gonna wait 10 minutes hopefully that works if not i dont know what to do i gotta leave for work in and hour and a half! dont have any security items on the truck so should that still be an issue?
only other thing i can think of is possible the part behind where the key is inserted but aint gotta clue how to get that out
