1.) they don't make an ss
2.) we have the 3.5 I5 and love it, get 24-28mpg highway, which is pretty good considering its a crew cab z71, 4.10's. 32"s, locked. It does lack low rpm power but wicked at higher ...NEEDS to be tuned, woke the truck up a lot. stock traction control wouldn't even alow the tires to spin in dirt, now you can smoke then on dry pavement... vids will come when we order new tires

Yeah, I knew they didn't make a Colorado SS I figured that was something someone had done aftermarket, but the 5.3L in a Colorado would be sweet.

no 2wd axle is narrower, otherwise 2wd rims would have the same offset as 4wd.

driving with a completely locked rear end is pretty stupid. If you want to do that just weld the spider gears together in your current rear end. Beware, everytime in the rain your truck will want to spin out, any time in mud, lose gravel, and it will have annoying tire squeel even if you go slow around corners because both wheels will travel at the same speed, not different

if you want a real locker, that still functions and drives normal get a detroit tru-trac
