Default Nerf bars/rock sliders

Anyone know where to get a set of heavy duty Nerf Bars for a 2000 ZR2? Looking for rock protection, not running boards. Something that will bolt to the frame not hang on brackets.

I haven't found anything bolt on as to rock protectors. I did find a set that would send you the pieces, then you weld together. Unfortunately I did not write down or save where that was, but it was thru Google and wasn't too long of a search lol... I think lol...

I'll follow this...

I made my own and welded them to the frame. I've brutally abused them and they're still holding up. They just look a little rough.

I bought mine off a member of the now defunct ZR2USA.com forum made by another member of the same board. Custom made and heavy duty, though I bolted mine on as the maker of them suggested that over welding due to how thin the steel is on the frame. No problem with them, other than a bit of surface rust from them "rubbing" on rocks now and then.

Yup, I welded 1/4" plates on the outside of my frame rails to reinforce it where the sliders are welded on.

Anyone care to share a photo? Was wondering if you used round or square tubing and what size tubing? Thanks again. Going to fab some up in the coming months,,,

I used 1-5/8" x .134 round tubing for the bent part, welded to 2"x 3/16 square tubing, with 1-1/2"x 1/4 square tube mounts to the frame. I also welded 1/4" reinforcement plates to the frame where the bars are mounted. This is the best picture I have right now. BTW, they're a little short because I originally made them for my K5, then cut them off and put them on my S10. I've been meaning to extend them, but it just hasn't happened yet.

What size tubing did you use? Also how did you bolt it to the frame since it is a boxed frame? Thanks.

FWIW, I have other things bolted to my frame (transmission crossmember, etc.) and I welded sleeves in so I could bolt all the way through.
