Went back to AMSOIL 5w-30 instead of the group III/IV hybrid that Mobil-1 has apparently turned into... It does idle a little smoother, at any rate...
Hopefully NAPA Gold oil filters really are made by Wix, lol....
Still gotta change my fuel filter...
Got my new air filter, though! Hopefully this helps with my idle issues...
Kinda nice knowing I'll never need to buy another air filter again... But I think I'm still going to keep a $7 spare somewhere in the truck, just incase I suck up some water again, lol...

OOOO I like AEM, I hope that the filter fixes your problem. Hows your truck running on the 5w? I'm run 10w30 but think i'm going to switch to 5 next oil change.

Wow I didn't know AEM made drop in filters. Are you running synthetic oil or just regular oil?

The drop in filter is new... JEGS just got it a couple months ago...
I know, 'cuz I kept checking the site, once I saw the filter on the AEM website, lol.
A little Simple Green, and a rinse, and she's good as new!
I'm running full synthetic...
The truck seems to run good on 5w... That's what it came with, and the oil cap says... the only reason I went with the 5w to start with, is that it's so low mileage, lol... Don't have to worry about the thin oil leaking out in the summer...
For how I drive, and such, synthetic is the way to go... A little pricier, but well worth it, IMO

I figured you would be running at least 10w if not 15w30 to keep your oil viscosity up while its cold.

That's a bit counter intuitive is it not... You want a lower viscosity oil for cold start flow...

That's why it's usually a good idea for states like AZ to run 10w40 during the summer...
I ran 10w30 in my old Z34... anything less than 5w30 is pretty much pointless this far south... Especially with block heaters and such...
The 5 means that at -40, the oil will still flow.... even though, it'll be more like corn syrup, it'll still flow, lol

Have you tried a good seafoaming? I got so used to doing it on all my vehicles at every oil change I forgot how effective it is until I did it on the Blazer when I got it. The stuff is amazing.
Amsoil is some good stuff, royal purple is even better, but I am not spending that money on my daily.Need to keep this ride cheap.

Yep yep, did the seafoam, didn't change anything...
Heck, she was done burning white before I made it to the highway! lol

Exactly... The 30 grade part of your multi-viscosity oil is what stops it from breaking down when your engine is at running temp, and on hot weather...
