Default QUICK help needed from those who have changed their instument panel lights.

I CAN'T get the factory lights out of the plasic socket. I have tried bending the little tabs on the side up, pushing them down, ect. How do you guys do it!!!!!????? I bought some new lights thinking this would be a quick job. Now i got my interior tore up and its dark..lol

What i ended up doing is using a very small flat head screwdriver and I pryed mine out a few bulbs broke but then i scraped the remainder of the old bulb out and put the new ones in!!!!

Or you could go to autozone and buy the socket that allows you to just plug and play...I think they are like 1.00 each...

then if you dont like the LED lights you still have your old bulbs to plug back in...remmebr once you take them out, theres no turning back!

Unless you buy some more 194 for 50 cents...(which I did...haha)

Mine came out easilly enough, so... Pliers? lol.

I think the filament wires are either soldered in or wound through the holes to the contacts...

yeah i got them out, broke afew.

the headlights and fog lights were cake earlier, i should have thought a little bet before taking the cluster out with it 15 degrees outside. But all is well and they are back together.

Yeah I was going to say, i just pryed mine out with a small flat blade screwdriver, broke one. Then realized the leads where soldered to the contacts, so I just took some wire snips and cliped the wires infront of the solder spot and was able to just pull the rest of them out. Yeah I did it when it was 80 degrees out and that is too hot (especially with no AC in the dorm room).
