i prob could find the whole engine i need the 8th digit of the vin and the engine size and name

i bet he has a vortec in her
he ran his truck with no oil pressure, I wouldn't reuse the heads if he was to get a new block. I would just go with a junkyard long block.

350 S10s are fun, but not a daily driver type truck unless you have deep pockets.. You'll burn through more gas

Don't you not have any money?

If you're going to give him your truck with system AND 300 bucks, it would be just as expensive to fix your truck assuming you can swap the motor between you and a few friends. Figure 300, plus title etc, you're at 400 or more. You can get a JY motor for that price easily I'd think.

Basically, for that deal I'd say it doesn't sound worthwhile. I'd fix your Blazer and keep it (or sell it for a good price with a JY motor) since you know what's wrong with your Blazer and have no clue what's wrong with the pickup he's trying to offload.

Maybe the craigslist guy has a v6 or v8 he wants to put in the blazer. Some people love projects, and since he's doing all the work it wouldn't cost him anything to fix it. I would go and test drive it or at least have him take you for a spin in it before you trade it. But he could have something JB Welded together waiting to break for the next person. Never know

just make sure you get the truck checked out by another mechanic first.

Yeah and look for a clean install. If there's wires hanging all over the place I wouldn't touch it.
