Default Red hot manifold.

Has anyone ever seen there blazer manifold or headers glowing? Just did both hub bearings on a blazer I just got off the highway to a gas station and was checking the front end components, and noticed my manifolds were glowing red. Shut it off and went into the gas station came back out and everything looked fine. Drove home checked and didn't see glowing. Also was going about 40mph on backroads on the way home about 5 mins. Rather than 80mph on the highway and checking immediately after exiting the highway. Is this normal or is somthing going on with it.

Was it dark out and dark in the engine compartment? I've never seen mine glow but I don't recall looking at them in the dark.

yes it was dark. and they were not glowing long after as I was in the gas station maybe 2-3 mins. Also did cap rotor and spark plugs, but it seems to be running great with no codes. Only noticed because I was looking at the front end components and the splash shield/wheel well plastic was broken when replacing front end a while ago.

Default Red hot exhaust manifold

I had this problem on the wife's car turned out converter was plugged up. But it wasn't a blazer. Took the cat off and hollowed it out. Problem solved, it had no power before. After power came back.

Check your cat, it may be partially plugged.
