I would love to do this! that was one of the biggest selling points about my jeep that I loved. The wiring is def going to be a huge pain though, because it would have to be like a quick disconnect sort of thing. Plus once you start to cut and remove there is no turning back.

 

Just make your own plug for it, lol

 

Cut the wires between the door frame and the door,mount a connector (usually called a bulkhead connector) to the doorframe (just make the hole where the wire harness comes through bigger), put the mating connector on the harness going to the door and you're all set.
I'm not sure how much space is in that doorjam...might need to hammer in a little clearance, but you can find the connectors pretty small so that's probably a 50/50 call.

 

Yeah I would say check your wiring, see how many wires you have, and then get a single connector with the correct amount of connections and wire it up.

Otherwise it sounds like a sweet idea. You could probably make a custom door hinge that would be a 1 bolt 2 bolt option like the jeeps. Definately post pictures if you do this.

 

Bad news. I looked into it...talked to some people...

I will not be attempting to remove the doors like this. The doors are simply too heavy...there's no way to rest the door without destroying paint or something else...the wiring will still be sticking out on the body side, and I'd have to replace all the hinge pins and bushings (I couldn't find anything at lowes that would substitute..nothing would support the weight without stretching the hinge it was it seemed).

Unless y'all have some solutions...no doorless pics of the blazer [&o]
