Default Snap on socket

Anyone have a s9723 plug socket? I am in desperate need of doing a plug swap and I don’t have this socket anymore. Tried searching eBay for a few weeks and nothing pops up.

Would be willing to buy, or even pay in advance to borrow and then ship back for a money credit. Whatever someone wants to do, let me know if interested.

I thought I might have one, but I don't. Can you weld? It would be pretty easy to make one out of a regular socket and a crowfoot wrench.

I think I was able to get the middle one on the drivers side off by using a sparkplug socket and then using an open-ended wrench on the socket. Have you tried that?

I then decided I needed to find out what this mystery socket was and yes, it is hard to find. Although, I did find this at Snap-On where it says it is back-ordered until late Feb.

Now, I'm going to have to keep an eye out for one of these to snap-up when I see it!

Edit: I think I had to go in from the wheel well to get at the the spark plug.

Thought of trying that combo, last time I did this I used that snap on socket and then sold it on EBay. But this is my daily driver and I don’t want to experiment with getting the plugs out and risk breaking something.

And THAT is why I never sell tools, even if I think I'll never need them.

Last time I changed my plugs on my 2000 Jimmy I bought a swivel plug socket from Autozone. I believe this attached link is the socket I purchased. I remember someone on this or some other forum mentioned that this socket would be able to get to the #3 Plug.

In stock - what I use - works great for almost all tight spark plugs, even with headers and V8 in my S10 hot-rod. Places flats for 5/8 wrench in middle of spark plug porcelain with the rest of spark plug sticking through. So if you have any room for a wrench there, it works. In your case, on #3 you should be able to get a wrench on it if the wrench head has an angle built in.

I just did my plugs and ran into this issue. If you remove the steering shaft from the steering box and just flip it up and zip tie it out of the way number three plug is a breeze. I believe the bolt the that keeps the steering shaft on is a 11mm or 7/16.

Happy wrenching. Myles.
