Swapping Gauge Clusters, Compatability?
The odometer died in my 98, so I bought a new cluster from a guy. I believe the clusters are from different years because the check engine light is different. The old one had "Check" under the symbol, while the new one just has the symbol.
When I installed the new one, the PRND321 and odometer would only work when the key was turned forward one position. When it was turned to on, they would both go away. Also the fuel gauge doesn't work on the new one, but the old gauge worked very accurately.
Any ideas? I'm meeting with the guy tomorrow, so I'd like to have some idea of what the problem could be. Thanks!

Ya I bet that's what the problem is. I'm meeting the guy I bought it from tomorrow to hopefully resolve the issue.

Turns out the non-functioning cluster was from a 2001. Installed a 98 cluster and it works great, other than the fact that it has 48 000km more than the actual vehicle
