you never mentioned if you'll be hauling a trailer, or even if your truck will be loaded.

i'm only asking 'cause any extra load is gonna put an extra tax on your trans & cooling system.

but since you said you're having a couple of mechanics checking it out, i'm sure they'll let you know of any issues they come across.

GL with your move. be sure to let us know when you get settled in down there.

at 190,000 km i went in the winter from winnipeg to vancouver and back....about 4800km or so....no problems.....made the winnipeg-calgary trip solo a few times and no problems.
End of april will be heading to whistler with a trailer in tow w/ 200,000km on about 2500km trip there, and i have no worries whatsoever about not making it..and then making that trip back again in august.

Might end up taking the long way to whistler from here...ya...theres a long way..down to NM and up the coast...and again, no concerns

It does all come down to how well you take care of it, condition and your own faith in the blazer...my old s10 had 230,000 km and i wouldnt feel confident taking it on more than a 600km trip.

My first Jimmy was a 98 and that poor truck got dragged all over this country because I was in the Army. Never thought twice about hoping in it and taking off to wherever. Now my 95 I wont drive it more than a few miles right now due to the dreaded CPI issues and I just cant seem to get it to run right. But after I get it fixed I wouldnt hesitate taking it anywhere. I put 10 thousand miles on it from July to Decemeber last year so I cant really complain to much that it finaly broke but its still running and I just have the funds to keep throwing parts at her at this point
