Default Temp. gauge not rising. No heat blowing

The heat stopped in my 2000 Blazer and the temp. gauge only raises slightly after being warmed up. What's going on here? How can I fix my heat?

I generally first suspect a stuck open thermostat and/or low coolant.

If the coolant temp was looking correct, then the likely culprit would a plugged heater core or a broken blend-door actuator. But, since you also have apparently low coolant temps, then you likely have bad thermostat, as rockp2 suggested.
