Default Thinking about buying a blazer

Hey guys. I came across a blazer on Craigslist that I am thinking about buying for my first car. It is a yellow 1999 blazer 4x4. 140,000 miles. It has the 4.3liter v6 vortec engine. new fuel filter, new fuel pump, new brakes, new plugs and new air filter. It has 31in offroad tires and painted black rims. Good overall condition besides a few dents near the bottom on both sides. It has the torsion bars cranked up giving t about a 2 inch lift. I heard there could be problems with the t bars cranked up? What are some things I should look for when I go check it out? He is only asking $2500. Good deal? Thanks in advanced for the info.

Just bought mine. The price seems legit for the mileage and year...not real sure about the suspension questions other than I've heard the same as you, anything over 1.5 on the torsion bars can effect front end parts lifetime. Check the fluids for color or burning smell, check for leaks and make sure the 4x4 works as well as look over the steering components ( tie rods, excetera) .

Even thought the fuel pump is new, doesn't mean much if it isn't a Delco or Delphi brand. Any other brand, and you can expect to replace it soon.

And the torsion bars being cranked that much will wear out the front end components much quicker! Especially your cv joints.

No trying to talk you out of it, just pointing out what I noticed. It really sounds like a decent deal, if it's in good shape. Mileage isn't bad at all.

My 99 blazer is my first vehicle too. I love mine. At times I wish I got a smaller xar with better gas mileage, but I still love mine. Very easy to mod, cheap parts, fun time. You'll definitely enjoy it.

Thanks guys. I'm just debating weather or not to jump on this deal or save up some more money and wait for the right deal on a truck.
