RE: top speed
Honestly, the other day I took mine up to 73mph, that's the fastest I've taken it since I bought it, 15 months ago.

The factory govenor limits these trucks to 98 mph... Different sized tires and drive train set ups will alter your top speed so some may go "faster" or "slower" then others...

I wonder if GM built govenors into the export vehicles. Other than go flat out on the highway, how can I tell?
P.s. My speedo is calibrated to 180Kph (120mph) if that makes a diff.

If it's been changed for the JAP maket, I think it'll only do 140KPH... I can't remember what their cut-off is... But all (new) vehicles sold in Japan are legally required to be speed limited to either 120 or 140KPH... I can't remember which.
The only way to find out is to go flat out on a race track, or otherwise non-public/traffic accessible area... We wouldn't want to cause any trouble for the police

RE: top speed
As drperry eluded to, the speed limiter is based on the speed rating of the tires the vehicle was originally equiped with for the US market. For these trucks, it would be right around 105mph.

RE: top speed
I wouldn't want to do 105in a blazer... I did hit 95 in mine passing people.(speed limit was 70-75). If you want to go faster get your ecm flashed/programmed. But Drag and HP is going to be a limiting factor.

RE: top speed
its ironic, i have no rev limiter yet the second i hit 98 it feels like the tranny disconnects from the motor.
