Default Tow hitch

Last weekend I bout a Reese tow power rear tow hitch for my 96 four door blazer. The box said it fit s10s. I don't see how I can even mount the thing nvm have it able to hold any weight. Has anybody else had any experience with this hitch on their blazers. Or any ideas how to mount it

Im thinking i can probably grind it down to fit in the three holes that I've seen them mounted into on a lot of other applications. Not planning on doing any serious towing, mainly just a tow point incase i ever get stuck nose first, and some minor towing if I ever have to

It can be made to work but its a bit of work including cutting the hitch and possibly your bumper to make it work. There is a difference in the 95-96 blazer tow hitch from the s10 and 97 on cause of the bumpers. The 95-96 blazers came with a roll pan style bumper and the hitch will bolt to the outside of the frame rails. Where as the s10 and 97 on bumpers are a step bumper and the hitch sits on top of the frame rails and uses the bumper bolts to hold it on. My suggestion would be return it if possible or sell it and buy the correct hitch. I'm speaking from personal experience on this

95-96 hitch

S10 and 97 on blazer hitch

Notice the difference in the ears that attach to the frame?

i might just have to take a loss and buy the new one. No way ill be able to even break even on the deal, and I doubt the possibility of return. I do appreciate the advice though.

Rex, I do see the difference, and didn't think anything about it when i bought the hitch that I did
