Default Tow Hook Shackle Conversion

I have read the forum threads about old suppliers of conversion kits for the Blazer front tow hooks. I see that Rough Country offers a kit for the K1500s that appears to have dimensions that would work. Has anyone tried these on an S10 Blazer? I know from other forum posts that folks will use the larger suburban tow hooks if they find them in the parts yards, so it stands to reason that this kit would also fit for an S10 Blazer as long as the bolts line-up. I reached out to Rough Country via chat and they said they haven't tested any tow hook kits for an S10 blazer, and refused to answer any questions about the dimensions of the K1500 kit. Super-helpful.

If these are the ones you mean, they look like they could be pretty easily adapted, either by drilling the frame or drilling the brackets. I doubt they'll bolt right on with no modifications, though.

Was looking at them too, and it just looks like they are mounted under instead of in the frame. Might be a little difficult to bolt them on, unless you bolt under the frame aswell lol

That is the shackle kit I was referring to. I was expecting it can insert into the frame rail just like the tow hook does. There is quite a lot of room in there. As long as the bolt holes align and the flat portion of the new item is less than 2" wide, it looks like it will fit. I may pull the trigger and order a pair and will report back in case anyone else is interested. To me this is much simpler and better looking (if it works) than using a new receiver tube and drilling it to fit.
