Very interested in purchasing.. Good or bad price?? What to look for??
Hi. I have been looking around online for a nice Blazer.. The blazer will be a secondary vehicle and just get me to work (less then 4 miles away) in snow conditions.. Another reason for the vehicle is sometimes for work we need to use the vehicle at certain sites.. i work in security.. anyway i would rather use an older vehicle for idling rather then taking my brand new vehicle and sitting and driving dirt roads or rocky terrain.. anyway.. I was looking around online and found a local dealership that has a 97 Blazer LS 4dr and 4wd.. the truck looks amazing.. i mean clean in and out with the exception of some scratches on the rear bumper.. guy was asking around 2300.. i got him to 2,000 even out the door including taxes and all paper work.. Just wondering if this is a fair price.. again its a 97 blazer 4dr / 4wd and has 144,000 miles on it.. Anything I should look for in particular?? Thanks for any input..

Thanks.. I was going ot try and see if I can get one of my more mechanically inclined friends to take a ride to help check it over but figured id ask you guys on here first since you all own these style vehicles and would be the best at knowing what would possibly be failing at this mileage and whatnot.. Overall teh truck looks clean as can be... i know that a good wash will get a lot of vehicle clean but almost all the blazers i have seen for sale all had stained seats and floor or ripped seats and all that.. this truck looks very well kept and is a 1 owner vehicle...

check for steering slop to, idler arms are knows for going, as well as ball joints. hub bearing's aren't uncommon. |mine has around the same (200,000km) and I've done all 4 ball joints, complete steering and my headgasket is gone(sealed by some headgasket sealant stuff for now) BUT my rad fluid was pretty gummed up(neglected) and when i flushed it it started blowing A LOT of smoke. it was also offroaded pretty hard. so if that one was maintained good, should have lots of km left on it.
