Default what to do...

I have 99 blazer that needs a LOT of work. I want to make it a nice ride but no idea what I want it to be. Any suggestions would be great.

I agree, can't get anywhere with it, if it's not worth keeping on the road.

How much is "a lot"? Dependability should always be first priority.

I'd say what do you want it to be is the first priority. Once you figure that out then you can plan on how to get there.

There is no sense in making it street worthy if you want a trail truck. The reverse is the same. Make up your mind what you want and then do it, plain and simple.

It is my daily driver right now. Mostly it just needs to be deep cleaned and a few new things inside. Motor and all that is in good working order. Just no idea what to do with it. Something for some trail runs with a few friends would be nice but I want it to still be decent on the highway. No idea how to achieve that.

makin a trail runner that goes on the highway will have to be a compromise of both conditions. sounds like you would be fine with a 2" body lift and 2" suspension lift then larger tires. that will allow you to keep it highway and trail friendly.

go through the builds section for ideas...there are alot of options.

My rule #1 - be realistic. If the price of repair plus the worth of the vehicle is more than you can buy one in the condition you want = sell what you have and save yourself the trouble. buy another one. That's what I did. I had a nice '92 that a deer ran out in front of... the price of a front clip, install and paint... too much. So I bought a 2000 that needed less work, for a lower total investment.

I would agree. How much does it need?
We need to know more.
This is a picture of a Camaro I had. Good car, ran great fun to drive.
But this alone was enough to get rid of the car and buy another.
What problems does yours have and what can you do?
Need a trans? Not so bad if you can pull/install it, or even rebuilt it. No labor that's alot of money saved.
