I noticed my steering was real loose. I was checking the balljoints when i noticed the looseness was coming from the steering column itself. It is the peice right before the pump and gears under the hood.you can kinda see in the pic where it looks like there should be a bushing or something between the connecting bolt. Sorry for crappy pic its from my phone. I want to get the new peice but i dont know what to call it. any help is appreciated.

$7.99 from the help aisle in autozone for brand new one, just got one for my son's blazer (I opted to replace mine with the flaming river u-joint instead)

 

i did the same in my '92 Jimmy. what an improvement in feed back!

definately gonna do it in the '98 when it wears.

Just picked up 2 jeep cherokee shafts. Can't wait to toss that old setup.
