I want to put a shackle lift on my blazer but am too cheap to buy some and just feel like building my own. So do you guy and gals think this setup would work or would it be taking out too much support.

I don't have a bow tie cut out of mine and they are made out of 1/2 inch think steel but other than that look like the ones I make.

Default cool

This is just made on Google sketch up(to scale). But i plan on making them out of 1/4 inch steel soon. Hoping that will be thick enough. Just didn't want a plain looking shackle and thought this might be a fun thing to do.

I like the design but you may want to box in the cross bar for some additional strength. The Bow Tie looks good but you are taking away some integrity with it. Just my opinion.

think it would be fine if the peice that has the chevy bowtie cutout was channel instead of flat metal but i think 1/4" would be thick enough.

^agree'd maybe color match them with your paint? or stencils might be another option.

Oh yeah 1/4 inch plenty thick the stock ones arent even that thick and that bowtie would be sweet too but like the guys said you might want to add support elswhere
