i know peak makes some cleaner that you mix with the water. i've heard it cleans radiators out pretty well. thats what im planning on doing once it warms up

lets see.. what did i do to the blazer today...

went to father-in-laws auto electric shop, picked up and installed the new alternator he built for me. unexpected surprise actually, he used water proof parts inside, so i can safely sink the alternator if i choose to

new clamps for ground and positive wires. the part that connects to the battery that is.

Fixed the passenger headlight, 2/3 of the wires for it had broke off when the old battery went sliding into the back of it. new battery is up on a cinder block at an angle, so it shouldnt slide (hasnt yet)

I had to wash my Blazer today even though it is going to rain the next 3 days because it looked like a pteradactyl took dump on my windshield.

what did i do to my Blazer today..............................

scored a major deal is what i did!

found a (somewhat) local guy that is parting out a '98 LT 4 door-with dark grey interior (couldn't seem to find one.......anywhere!)

for $100, i picked up;

- both HL's (absolutely spotless chrome, crystal clear lenses),
- HL switch w/factory fog switch (can't find that anywhere! been looking for awhile),
- complete power moon roof,
- rear center seat belt,
- and a dome light & wiring for the back seat. kinda stupid why GM never put one in the moon roof trucks, but this guy had-and it had a nice factory looking wiring harness (all plug 'n play, no cutting).

while i don't need the HL switch or the moon roof, i've never come across a parts truck in the last year & a half that had these items, and i'd like to have back ups-just in case.

and it turns out i didn't need the rear center seat belt, mine was just jammed up -with 4 quarters, an American nickel (from 1962!), and 3 safety pins-of which 2 had opened, gone through the belt, and then closed! (WTF!?!) actually bent one of the quarters!

so now i have a spare dark grey rear center seat belt.

oh yeah, i almost became part of "lorton's deer club" on my way to the guys house. kinda ironic considering i was going for the HL's that were taken out by a flock of birds a few weeks ago. thank God my ABS has been disabled!

he also has the same style front bumper as mine (both lower corner's are cracked to the steel bumper by the original owner). he said $50 for the complete unit-chrome, lower plastic, and the re-bar (his suggestion, "just in case"). besides being red, it's a direct bolt on. but that's ok anyways, this Spring i need to fix some blisters around the windshield and a few spots on the rear bumper. so i may as well paint a unbroken lower front bumper, compared to trying to fix mine (or buying a new aftermarket one).

and the sun was blazin' today as well, not a cloud in the sky!

a good day indeed!

**edit** just noticed cbr-i got your screen name in my post #.

I modified the exhaust tip my balzer had. it had a resiginator(cant spell) in it. the tip has always made the blazer sound a little more beefy. well i have had the tip on it for over a year and the resiginator had half rusted out so i cleared out the rest of it and put it back on sounds a hell of a lot better now...idle sounds like a v8 then reving it sounds beautiful i might have to put a video of it on youtube it sounds nice.

Finally got my 2" P.A. body lift installed! Replaced my cracked dash speaker grills (interior is tan, replaced with black ones. I think it looks real cool). Removed factory cassette player and started process of filling hole there to put switches for off-road lights. Kinda a buisy day. Well worth it!
