what have you gotten done on your blazer today?
did the throttle blade mod! picked one up at the junkyard for a buck, as well as the passenger valance behind the hood. I must say I noticed a nice increase in idle stability as well as a nice juicy increase in acceleration and shift 1-2 stability.
I really only wanted a tire carrier and the valance but there were only 2 blazers and a bravada at the junkyard. no tire carrier
While Im at it, if anyone wants to know if the woodgrain style window controls from a bravada work on a '97 Blazer LT, NO THEY DO NOT.

I fixed the heater controls YET AGAIN on my '98 Jimmy. I'm taking it down to Oregon this weekend for a gig and I need to haul a complete PA system and two band members so the Jimmy is getting the call. I drove it yesterday and the heat defaulted to defrost again so I tore it all apart to fix it for the third time. I've already replaced the transfer case input shaft seal, the vacuum switch on top of the transfer case, the actuator, and the heater controls. There's no reason there should be any ATF left in the lines to get into the heater controls unless there was a bunch of it in the vacuum tank in the fender. Fortunately, I've been grabbing up heater control head units when I can find them around me cheaply so I had one on the shelf ready to go today.
I've fixed so much on this truck that I'm starting to think it's time to sell it. I've encountered every challenge that a Blazer owner should have to face from P1870 to ATF in the vacuum system to bad ball joints to evap codes. This truck obviously had a hard life before me and it shows. It's time to put some more work into my '93 Jimmy and let the '98 become someone else's project.

changed the oil pressure guage sender today and the engine oil/filter. guage was doing weird things, like when you would hit "resume" on the cruise @ 30 mph to get back to 55, guage would dip to 10 psi then go back up to 40-60 when it would shift...working fine now. greased the front steering linkage also.
I got my 3.73 rear end in tonight!!!!!!! 2people 3 hours. Went from 3.08. Noticed a decent difference but not sure as I drove 2 miles home tomorrow I will know more.does anybody know how much the speedometer will change with these gears it didn't look right I'm thinking 15 miles per hour difference lol 215/70/15 tires
It'll definitely change, but not by 15 mph - probably 5 tops (it'll indicate a faster speed than your actually going ... and pile on the miles on the odometer faster too), I'm guessing. There's calculators out there to figure out how much, if you search Google long enough. You'll definitely have more off-the-line power, that's for sure.
Ours has 3.42's, and it gets up and goes pretty good with the carbureted '00 Jimmy engine. I took my buddy for a ride last month, and he was shocked LOL - he was gripping the dash ....
