i've found the secret to getting 20+ mpg!

carry a big-*** BBQ & 10 foot long, 2" x 8" wooden bike rack on the roof of your Blazer! must be the increased aerodynamics of the two items combined!!

seriously, i had to bring home the BBQ & bike rack from up North on Sunday (we sold the trailer), and i still can't believe the truck managed to get 20.25 mpg on that tank of fuel. thats the best it's ever got, even with a P0446 poppin' up.

also found further proof that these Blazer/Jimmy's have even better aerodynamics than we figure. either that, or they just have really good rear bumpers.

found this on the rear bumper when i got home...............

forgot i sat it there on Satuday when i finished doin' the plugs on the Buick.

thank God that never came off while i was moving. don't even wanna think about what whould've happened to the poor sucker who's car it would've hit.

no wonder my numbers didn't come up on Saturday's lotto draw-i was saving my luck for Sunday!

That happened to me with a hat. Stayed on the roof from my house to Britt (3/4 to Sudbury).

That looks sweet. Love the 4 door look with the spare tire and black rims.

i plan on rotating them so I get the longest life out of all of my tires, so I'm not real worried about it dry rotting

Sweet looking truck - even with the wheel hanging on the back. Now you need some black nerf bars!

Default "It's ALIVE again"

Finally got the blazer running sweet again, fitted a new (second hand) fuel pump today and now my lil truck doesn't surge and miss when I mash the loud pedal.

Wasn't too bad a job doing it by myself with jack stands out in the sun

Only issue I struck was the metal locking ring off the top of the tank didn't quite fit over the new pump which came out of a 99 blazer so a little mod with the 4" angle grinder and it fits perfect.

And even better now my fuel gauge works.
