what have you gotten done on your blazer today?

Put a new wheel bearing/hub assembly on the front, nice to know that the hum is gone from it starting to go (had minimal play in it too, it was due). Bonus is now the steering wheel is strait (was off just a little bit, enough to annoy me when I drive it) and...
No more ABS light! Wasn't expecting that since it was always a RF code and I put a LF on. I'll take it though, first time there has been NO warning lights on since I put it together (CEL comes on and off over an EVAP code still, I really got to get a new gas cap...)

Luckily it happened about 500 feet from where I was working my recycling route in the city, so I drove the truck over there to see the carnage. On the way home, I picked up a belt & idler, then when I got home, soaked the tensioner (minus the idler) in used motor oil, then pried the seals out of it's idler bearing & greased the hell out of them. That was the end of that problem.
At the time I had AAA Plus, so cost me nothing to flatbed her 20 miles home (would have been at least $100).. but the wifey's errands were done for that day.

Nice save there. That happened to our old '91 S10 we used to own 8 years ago ... only my wife neglected to tell me the thing was squealing and squawking. The thing seized, and launched the belt into the fan while she was 20 miles from home. Belt fragments were everywhere ...

I only needed the tensioner pulley, but i couldnt get it off. I even had a pipe for leverage and the bolt just turned with tons of resistance. so i just said forget it and got the whole thing. I also the other day scored a brand new belt off a 99 blazer. even though book says it wouldnt fit,it fit my sonoma (4.3 tbi) fine. So,good pulleys, and belt.
Now the alternator is growling. Funny thing is i found a alternator for a s10 last year at the junk yard and paid 10 for it. Found out it only fits 94-95 4.3s. Guess what? the sonoma is a 94. So,it should fit. So i guess it worked out afterall.
