Default What rpm should I be at?

1994 Chevy Blazer full size with a chipped 350 in it and 3:73 rear gears & a gear drive, 700r4 transmission, lifted 7 in front and 5 in rear. Just replaced my fuel filter, air filter, egr valves and got an oil change. Motor was rebuilt 45k ago, transmission rebuilt 14k ago.

I am wondering what rpm I should be at climbing hills? Just like normal commuting, not rock climbing. I have to take it up to 2500 just to keep speed going uphill, but on a level surface I can cruise at 65mph at 1500-1800rpm just fine. Just bought the truck so I am wondering if it's just me or if that is normal.

You didn't mention what size tire you have. Tire size and gear ratio will have a lot to do with.
