I wouldnt take a chance on dry pavement with 4low... I would of crawled up in a low gear but thats about it. as long as the trans dont over heat you should be fine

When I got my truck, the 4wd wasn't working, and I did not have 4x4 at the time, so it was only in low. Without the trailer hitch I think the jack that holds up the trailer up would have been dragging. It was definitely over the weight limit, but we fix that trailer up, and sold it, that was the reason we had to move it.

i towed my brothers boat last year with it, then i towed my dad camper from a few blocks away that weight 12 000 pounds i must say it was a strain on my drive train and i broke all the engine mounts doing it. i replaced it with urithane. now since i do alot of towing im pulling my brothers new boat he purchased weighing it at 5000 pounds. i beefed up my rear hitch and bumper and suspension for the added towing.

2003 Stock LS Blazer stock trans and oil cooler.. I tow a 17' Tracker Bass boat (aluminum) loaded to the gills with gear and anchors outboard and 2 Electric motors. No Brakes on trailer either..
Only issues is on the couple mile long hill on turnpike.. seems like she's working pretty hard to keep 65Mph, but she has never let me down or slowed traffic. I constantly maintain the brakes though...why I use Blazer rather than my 4.0L Cherokee which actually seems 'peppier' on the pull, but has rear drum brakes.

So not a Blazer, but still related to this thread. I bought a new camper last year, then bought a stronger truck to tow it with. The camper is a 21ft hybrid with 3 queen size flip out bunks, an 8' slide out and a very open floor plan. The truck is a 2009 Yukon Denali which is fun as hell to drive in just about any conditions. It doesn't do offroad too well, but hey, that's what the K5 is for!

Default Don't try this at home

My blazer is a 1996. Has mildly built 350 Gen1, automatic transmission with a modified controller (shifts manually), 4x4, 3.73 rear end, trailer brake,2" shackle lift. Almost all stock cept trans controller and motor. Camper 35' 6500lbs, Excavator 8000lbs. definitely not the funnest pulls but she did real good.

The pulling part is never the problem. It's the STOPPING part that gets us.
