In descending order of which i would most like:
2004 Zr2
2002 Trailblazer
83-85 GMC Jimmy
76-78 K5
has nothing to do with reliability though... hope that helps

I prefer the old school K5, pre-smog would be my choice if I were looking to buy a different one. Hey call me crazy but I like to have a solid axle truck with little to no computerized stuff in it, makes them a lot easier to work on IMO.

Yep, I like my K5. I'm going to be putting in a '90 L05 TBI motor though so I'll be adding computerized stuff to it. But I've had it stall on me while I have been on some pretty wicked inclines. Fuel injection will get rid of that issue. Can't get much more simple for the rest of the vehicle though.

If you can, and if you like the body/front end of a 98+ Blazer, I'd try to get a 2003-2005 because the 4.3s were made more reliable for those years.

Yea I really wish mine was pre-smog but for a free truck, who can complain? That's definitely the down side to carburetion but that should fix it right up no problem. Still sucks having it as a DD though on account of gas prices going up and it getting bad mileage, speaking purely of my own truck of course.
