Default ex wife jimmy blew a rod

I have 2 stories. One was my ext wife jimmy blew a rod. Luckly it was right by a exit. When I walked to the truck stop. Her relatives was there eating brunch or what not. Had to wait like 2 hours to get picked up since I was broke down in like Burly idaho and I lived in nampa idaho. What really sucked is 2 things needed to be fixed on that balzer. A broken leaf spring and a paint job. Everything else was already fixed up and it was great. more rare 1988 (think 88) with 5 speed and 2.8L engine.

The next break down was my sidekick. It wasn't a bad break down. But I could tell the night before I thought my alt was going out. But no idiot light was on. So I tried to call around that morning before leaving work. Couldn't get ahold of anybody. Sure enough on the way home. About 12 miles out it died. So I walked most of the 12 miles. I did get 2 rides. But they was really short. Since they was going not into town but to other places. The sad part is. I got back to my truck after it was sitting. It started up and I drove it most of the way into town. Then Stuck another battery in it. As I pulled up to autozone. The alt light came on. Ofcourse they tested it and it was a bad alt.

TTFN,

Josh

I guess mine was quite a few moons ago when I was leaving the junkyard. Had a trailer on the back w/ parts inside. Left the yard and got 500 feet when the truck literally just shut off and absolutely refused to restart. Many phone calls revealed nothing other than noone would help me and dads cell phone "roadside ASSistance" would tow ONLY the truck for 3 miles. The rest of the trip (~22 miles) would be an added $125. Without the trailer! F' that! So after baking in the florida summer sun for 8 hours, I finally got my cat groomer on the line and she went to my place, hooked up my CAR dolly (read, very small) and came to pick me up. When she got to me she was on her 6th beer so was in no shape to be any help with the loading. So I squeeze my truck on the dolly (tires squeaking on the fenders all the way), and sinch everything down. Then she tells me that I'm driving because she's drunk and doesnt want to deal with the legal issues involved with towing tandems (HIGHLY ILLEGAL in florida!). So I manage to drive her dodge dually, towing my gypsy which is towing my trailer, down these narrow country roads (little more than one lane and a decent amount of traffic) and get everything home around 11pm and unload everything.
Turns out the distributor internals had self destructed. ~$175 and alot of cussing later, all was good.

My problem happened back in November or December last year when I removed my broken cv axles and couldn't get the new ones to go back in the differential for anything. I had to go to work that night and was already late, so I threw everything back together thinking it would be fine. I was just going to put the new ones in the next day or so. Well I almost made it to work. I was going around the last corner (and this is in rush hour traffic) at about 35mph and all of a sudden I hear a POP, and the next thing I know all of my tires are locked up and I'm squealing to a stop. I get out and check my front tires to find that they are both pointed inward and I hear all of my wheel bearings rolling away on the ground. A few cars almost hit me even though I turned my hazards on. Luckily there was a shop just up the road with a tow truck, but they completely ripped me off. So, both wheel bearings were replaced, CV axles installed, one rotor was resurfaced, and driver side spindle replaced. Very costly mistake, but sometimes you just have to live and learn. And the lesson learned, DO NOT drive without CV axles.

My worst breakdown was in my '93 Astro Van, hey its got a 4.3L V6 and 4L60E tranny too. I was heading to work, 40 miles away. As I was exiting the freeway my left front wheel made a loud grinding noise. Parked at McDonalds around back by the Grayhound bus stop. Called for a ride to work from a co worker. At lunch got a ride to the parts store. Fortunately I carried tools, after work got dropped off at the truck and proceeded to replace the drivers front wheel bearing. This is a 2wdr truck, with real bearings. Took me almost 3 hours in a blizzard to replace the inner bearing, it welded itself to the spindle. I managed to cut it in half with a hack saw, drove it off with a cold chisle, filed down the weld and smoothed out the spindle to accept the new bearings. Greased up the new, put it all back together, cleaned the 3" of snow off my back, packed everything up and loaded the truck. Went into McDonalds for a cup of Joe and to use the facilities before my 45min. drive home.

I have changed a timing belt in my works parking lot, again in the middle of a snow storm. That was on a Ford Escort wagon.
