I got mine from here
http://truckgeardirect.com/?ITEMID=GC-801
It looks like the exact same one on e-bay. At the time I got it (fall 2008) truck gear direct had free shipping. It looks like they are charging $50 now. When I got mine, the final cost was $189 with free shipping and no tax.
Even with the $50 for shipping, it is still cheaper than most other places.

so this one you got, you still have acess to your tow hooks?

Yes. The tow hooks are still accessible although not strait on.you have to be at an angle to the outside of the truck to use them.
I actually used mine for the first time last week to pull someone (a small rust-bucket of an izzu pick-up) that was stuck in their un-plowed driveway out.

I helped turn this forum on to Hunter 4x4 Brushguards four years ago. Except back then they were $199.00 + FREE shipping. Good quality product. My next truck will definitely be getting a Hunter Guard....

Hey everybody,
First off, I also went with the Hunter bg. I liked the way it looked, but even better the price was right. I just got it today, and I can see why the price was so great. The directions (which admittedly are hard to screw up) to a terrible job of telling you which bolts to use where, and weather you can use your existing stock bolts safely or if you're running any kind of risk by doing so. I have the finished black ones bolting on the pieces that cover the lights (3 to a side) but does anyone know the proper size bolts for the middle and bottom bracket?/ I can get by without the spacers....I can't see where they're gonna make a difference at this point but I don't want a bolt to shear off because I put it in the wrong place. The two longest ones in the set I used for the bottom most hole on the bottom bracket the one with 3 holes for the bolts. I think it looks stupid this way and will probably rip it all apart tomorrow for a more even distribution. In short, I used every available hole with either a stock bolt, or one supplied, but I have several left over still. Other than that, it only took about a half hour. but I would have gladly paid a little more for some better labelled instructions.
I know I'm not the only one who ran into this to, so if any of you have it all sorted out, lay it on me!!
Thanks,
Rick

While I agree the directions leave something to be desired...theres only one way the headlight guards are going to get installed, and theres only 8 other bolts...I thought it was pretty self explanatory..
I had the mis-matched bolts issue as well. The ones they send you will work fine, and once youve got the guard installed you'll never notice that you have two different sized bolt heads (I think one is 5/8"s, the other is 3/4" for those who don't own a Hunter guard). You can even paint the bolt heads and nuts after you get them installed and you'll really never notice them. I did a few days after I took the pic thats in my sig. The way I installed mine was using 2 of the big bolts on each side, and one of the nugget bolts to help hold it together. You should be able to figure out that the 2 much smaller bolts are for the upper grille guard supports at the crossbar.
I think there was a pic somewhere of how the upper support gets installed. But as long as you have the bolts tight, you wont have a problem with any of them shearing off I assure you. Theyre still Class 8.8 or similar bolts..pretty strong stuff.
All things considered though, Id rather fiddle with some bolt placements, or worst case go to Lowe's and buy $10 worth of new, matching hardware than pay an extra $250 to get a Manik or a Westin brush guard. Just my $.02 though..
