Post Wheel Studs

This is the second time that I have had to replace my studs. First time was on the passenger side front wheel, one stud broke off, and a nut went missing..... Just last night I was turning into a restaurant and I heard a POP, noise and I got out and sure enough I had two studs that broke off. The first time that I got into changing the one on the passenger side, it was a B**** to get out until i got a concrete drill and that broke it free, this was after pounding on it with a "BFH" and a brass drill head, and heating it up with a tourch for about 10 minutes total and using liquid wrench. Needless to say this time I knew what I had to do and was pre-paired. BUT what I cannot get my head around is how the nuts came loose, cause when I looked at it when I heard the POP the other nuts were VERY loose and I could spin them with my fingers... Anyone have any idea on how that happens. Ive had my blazer since early august 2011.

Either they're not being set to the proper torque, or somebody is out to get you!

agreed with mike7075, torque is being tampered whether it be someone messing with you, over tightening, or the lugs are dirty and a torque wrench isn't giving a good reading.

One other thing it could be, and this is only if they are not original lug nuts, they could be an incorrect thread pitch or taper angle. If they are aftermarket wheels, the taper angle could be incorrect also.
