Spoke to you the other week, I am the guy with the UK Blazer key fob on Ebay.

I am from Berkshire, owned my Blazer for over 2 years now with no intentions of getting rid of it any time soon.

I can't believe people from the UK waste their time with our rubbish blazers, especially after seeing so many episodes of top gear uk. I've never heard clarkson's review on an s10, cuz I doubt he'd waste his time on a vehicle with such a cheap, plasticy interior. It is pretty awesome, though, seeing what we can't have in the states. I.e. fender flares. Why the Hell didn't gmt put them on American versions?

There are quiet a few differences between the American version and the one in the UK.
As you pointed out the fender flares are added on as standard, the ignition housing is totally different and the interior has been upgraded from the American version as well.
The reason we drive Blazers here is because they are a cheap 4x4 to buy and insure compared to say the Range Rover and there are comparative on fuel costs so they make cheap 4x4 motoring.

Having owned, in the last few years, a Landcruiser Amazon, an L322 Range Rover and a Jeep Grand Cherokee, I have to agree, the Blazer is by far the most economical 4x4 to run and repair.

The Land Cruiser was pretty reliable but heavy on diesel and a bit like a Tractor to drive, the Range Rover cost more in parts than diesel but did drive well when it wasn't broken and the Jeep.....just not for me, only lasted 3 months then sold it.

My Blazer is not my primary vehicle, I run it because it is different to most other 4x4s in this country and it pleases me to keep an older vehicle on the road.

I am very fortunate that I can afford to keep on top of the running repairs and can do my own work.

Were this not the case, I probably wouldn't run a 14 year old 4x4 of any Brand.

I didn't know the interior was different, apart from being right hand drive. Still wouldn't have minded the fender flares on the US version. Maybe one of you guys could ship a set of first gen flares to me? I would imagine the shipping would be the deal breaker there.
