Default yet another overhead console question

i was at a junk yard today getting parts for a friends ride. i ran across a couple of GMC jimmys. the first one i saw (green 4 door 4x4 with a tan interior) i glanced inside to take a peek at what it had still left in it. looked up and there was a center console. i started to take it down but stopped cause i was wondering, will my blazer have the mounts already in place for this? also i have been flipping through the overhead console threads and saw that the temp sensor is on the hood latch support. ive taken my grille off and i have seen a two prong wire not plugged up to anything. does this two prong wire possible connect to the sensor? if thats what it is then my truck probably has already been wired for one and never received it right?. i have seen several vehicles with wireing for something but was not included with it.

you'll need the clips that the screws go into, but the holes are in the roof frame already.

as far as i know, all of the wiring is in the truck, you just need to connect everything up. your truck wouldn't have the sensor on it though, so be sure to grab that too.

I have a two and a four door, they are the same. That two prong wire you see is it zip tied next to the pass. side turn signal? Cause noticed one there on mine (and i have a thermostat/compass) and was wonderin what it was for too. Possibly factory fog lights but there isn't another on the driver side.

and dont forget they make a digital display that has a mode button instead of the on/off button. it it has the mode lable on the bottom button it has the mpg and range in it and also still has the temp display too. some thread i read says you just connect a wire from the dispay to the the connector for the scan tool plug that under ur dash. you can find these in Jimmys, Blazer, Bravadas S10 and commly in the chevy vans.even ones that come with the sunroof model. they can come out of the over head console.. aslo they have homelink buttons too

thats exactly where the plug is, where you have your sensor. don't recall seeing the other plug on my truck though. but your is a 01 and mine is a 97. completely different front ends. thanks for the pic of the sensor tho. now i know what to look for.

That extra plug likely goes to the ATC ambient temperature sensor (ATC = automatic temperature control). If you do not have ATC in the truck, then that would explain why it is not connected to anything.
