I paid $22,000 or there abouts for my ZR2. Of course, that was 18 years ago this month and it only had 7 miles on it. That was after the test drive. I now have over 286,000 miles on it and probably more in gas than the original purchase price.

With those mods you have AJBert, (lift and tires) how is it on the freeway? Acceleration and stability?

I'd say right around $5000 would be about right, as long as everything checks out. (Paperwork for new parts & engine swap, test drive goes good, aesthetically appealing, etc..)

It's not a hot rod by any means but I wouldn't hesitate to drive cross country with it. Keep in mind, the more capable you make a vehicle for off road you lose some street civility. My mileage when new was about 17-18 mpg and now I get about 14 mpg. I feel it handles pretty much the same on road as when new but acceleration has dropped a bit with the larger tires and more weight. Off road is where most of the differences are with the mods I've done. I even tow a 21 foot travel trailer when camping, hunting and fish that has a dry weight of about 3500 lbs. I don't have problems until I go over passes above 10,000 feet. By problems I mean going much slower than the other traffic as I can't do the speed limit but I can get over the passes none the less. I also have to keep an eye on temps when crawling like that in the summer.
