Default Is a 3800 a 60 degree motor?

never thought about it before but is the 3800 chevy motor really a 60 degree motor or did some jeep conversion site just mess with my mind?

Well, how about that? Next time someone asks what motor to replace their aching 2.8?? No tranny swap neede, right? I hear the regular 700r4 60 degree tranny will bolt right up. Is that also true?? The jeep site writes that it is.

You'll just have to find a 3800 from an f-body is the only thing. The FWD 3800s don't have the provisions for side engine mounts. That and you may have an interesting time with the ignition controls as 3800s have had a DIS (Distributorless Ignition System) since like '86 IIRC.

Then again, I'm not sure how the f-body 3800s had their ignitions...

Things to consider.
