Brake Lights Stuck On! Help!
I have a '97 Blazer LS 4WD. Fuse blew for brake/hazard lights after plugging in trailer lights. Replaced fuse, now brake lights stay on constantly, even when car is shut off! Replaced brake light switch (we feel we adjusted it correctly). Didn't fix it. Disconnected trailer lights wiring harness. Didn't fix it. I have to pull the fuse to turn brake lights off so it don't kill the battery. Running lights, hazard lights and turn signals work fine. It has my husband and I totally baffled and getting very frustrated. Kind of scary to drive because I don't want to get rear-ended or get pulled over. I have been searching the internet hoping to find a solution, but most of the answers have to do with replacing the brake light switch. Someone mentioned that they tapped on the relay under the hood and the lights went off, they replaced it and haven't had any problems since. When I tried to find out where this "relay" was located, couldn't find anything. I hope someone can point us in the right direction. Thanks in advance for any advice!
Wix, please post a new thread on this topic. This thread is OLD!!! Anyway, there is other information on this and other similar issues in other threads as well. If you need wiring help, please let me know. I have access to the diagrams for many different years.
