Well the starter has went out on my 94 s-10 4*4 (4.3) and now i need to repace it...problem is that ive had several different ways to do it given to me, none which seem to be very attractive. Any ideas on the best way to change the starter out? Thanx

getting a starter out isn't usually hard to do. i would lift up the front of the truck and put it on jackstands and take it out that way.

Disconnect the battery. Raise the truck, put it on jack stands. Take the battery cable and the ignition wire off the starter solenoid. Remove the outer mounting bolt, loosen the inner mounting bolt and remove the shim (if there is one) and remove the inner mounting bolt. Slide the starter out of the bell housing and tip it down to remove it. Reverse this procedure to install the new one.

Its a bit tricky to get the starter down once its loose, you just have to turn it the right way and it falls out. Its pretty tight but managable. Mine was super easy once I took the exhaust loose.
