clearing codes

I have a 01 blazer lt while driving to work the check engine light came on. Took it to Auto Zone the code came back that it could be catalitic converter or vacuum lines would like to clear codes to see if it comes back

What was the code?

Without a scan tool, the only way to clear out the codes is by disconnecting the battery for upwards of 5 minutes.
