Default egr blockoff plate

Just wondering if anyone has blocked off there egr valve with a metal plate. I know it will cause worse highway gas mileage, but will it cause a cel or any other ill effects.

Default RE: egr blockoff plate

Definitely going to cause a CEL. You would need to modify the PCM to remove the EGR codes.
