high idle and no kick down
hey all
i have a 95 4.3 4x4 auto blazer with 140k and some issues.
background
i bought it with a bad frost plug in the rear of the motor. changed it out (PITA) and havent had an issue with the temp at all. i also removed the cat which was clogged. the truck is stock minus the removed cat and a flowmaster muffler.
1) high idle, it idles @1500-2k in park/N at all times and about 1300 in gear. i have done full tune up(plugs, wires, cap, rotor, sefoam) still high idle,so i replaced the IAC. still no change. no vaccum leaks that i know of.
2) the tranny shifts @ 3200rpm in any gear @ and throttle possion(even WOT) and it will not down shift. fluid is fine.
any info would help
thanks

RE: high idle and no kick down
Get it scanned to see if the TPS is faulty or needs to be recalibrated/adjusted? Since the cat was clogged did you check other systems ie: EGR O2Sensors???
Before spending/throwing a lot of money at the problem you should really get the PCM scanned for possible trouble codes that may be stored in the computer but have not setoff the MIL/SES light....
