Default nuthing happens

I have driven myself nuts. Yesterday I went to go to work and I tried to start Boomer and nothing happened. No clickky, clikky, or rumble and stop. Then I notice even the auto door locks had become manual. So I dived into the book and the Haynes and replaced half the fuses and the starter relay. Then we tried to jump it. No Joy. But it is not the battery (that's still got power, just not sharing). Any body got any other ideas? Help!!!!!!![&o]

Do the headlights come on? If they don't you've probably melted a fusible link. There should be a couple of fusible links coming off the "S" terminal of the starter motor. Sometimes they melt (breaking the electrical connection) without breaking the insulator, which makes them harder to find. Give the wires a gentle tug, if they stretch, they're probably broken on the inside. Of course the other way to check is to use a test light at various points of the wire.
Hope this helps.

Default RE: nuthing happens update

Just an update. Got really frustrated by the starter and gave up and took it to the dealer. The tech tried the key and then went to the battery. Then he tightened the black terminal and tried again. Boomer came alive. and then died. He said it is in the ignition (i.e) where you put the key in. They are going to fix that and make me new keys so nobody can mess with my engine again.

so the dealer is going to replace your ignition switch. Common problem. Mine tripped my security system.
