Ok...something so simple...and I'm gonna ask...how do you get the old one off...I don't have any special tool or anything. And also...is there a specific torqing spec for the idler pully...I'm replacing that too.

 

not sure about torque specs, but the belt is a PITA to get off. on left side (pass) side, there is a pulley under the alternator, that is the tensioner.

 

so what...I just grabt eh tensioner pulley and push it in and try and make some slack?

 

nevermind...its all done...well...cept if there is supposed to be a certain torqing spec on the idler pulley...lemme know bout that...that wasnt bad...10 minutes to replace pulley and belt.

Sorry, got a little hasty wanting to give acurate information just wrong part. The idler pulley bolt is supposed to be 37lb-ft of torque.

 

How do u know this??? lol...is there like...i dont kno what im tryin to say...lol...where do you find this?? Ill take your word...but im just curious...because it seems theres a specific torque spec for like...even the smalles things..

 

The GM Service DVD, I bought it from E-bay motors...it covers Gm vehicles from '88 - '05...I tried to get the table of torque values for engine components but would not open up in the thread since I had to try and do a print to file for my printer and it just was not compatible with anything other than MS Office Digital file reader...I have the specific document # if you want..
