squeal!!
i have a 97 blazer 2x2 and its squealing from the rear of my truck once i pull away.. it goes away after going over 15mph... any1 no what it is.. i think somethin needs a greasing.. also its not the brakes.. its when ur using ur accerator peddle...
its not the u joints i just replaced the u joints last week..it sounds like the noise of brakes like that high pitch squeal when u apply the brakes and there worn down only its not when i use my brakes its when i pull away.. idk its weird
mine is doing that to...i just had new brakes put on it like 4 months ago.....when i push the brakes they squaek and squeal bad.....sounds awful...but when i take off from like a stop light....u still here a squeak....squeak ...squeak...comin from the brakes...like they r stilll dragging....but once u get up to speed it goes away...
I am a firm believer of using the anti-squeak compound on the back of brake pads. I had to do the brake job on the rear of my Bravada after I had packed my garage up before I moved and couldn't find my stuff. I now need to take it apart again and apply the compound to the back of the pads to get them to stop squeallin' abit under light braking.
Kyle makes a good point regarding the anti squeal stuff. It's usually the metal backing on the brake pad contacting the caliper causing the sqeak, more common with jobber pads than OEM pads from the dealer.
The other thing is that if the caliper slide pins are not properly lubricated, the pads make more noise too.
