Default Transfer case swap

I have a 97 Bravada with the Smartrak all wheel drive system. I want to switch it over to part time 4 wheel drive and was wondering if anyone knew what, besides the transfer case and dash switch, would have to be added or changed. I don't know just how the blazer system works, whether it has a separate control box for the 4wd, etc. Any help on this matter would be appreciated. Thanks

Default RE: Transfer case swap

You would also need to add a TCCM (Transfer Case Control Module), reprogram the PCM (and possibly the BCM) for the transfer case of your choosing, and I believe that there are more controls that need to be added to the front axle for engagement/disengagement of the axle that isn't present on AWD models. Not to mention wiring to all of the affected areas.

May I ask why you would want to undertake such a swap?
