Default transmission and fuse

I posted someone about this a little bit back but still don't know what to do. The square that outlines the P R N D 1 2 3 is not present and someone suggested that a fuse was blown. Does anyone know where this fuse is? somewhere around the tranny? or in a wire running from the tran up to the front? Just curious to know if anyone has had any past experience with this and knows where the wiring is..

I think the problem is probably a faulty cluster, but I do see three fuses that power the cluster. Fuses #4, #11 and #19, all are 10amp fuses.

I don't think it has anything to do with the cluster - but I'll check that too - I have a feeling it has more to do with the wiring that goes to the tranny.

Is it a 4 wheel drive? I have a 2000 with the 4 button transfer case. I was troubleshooting a 4 wheel drive problem and I pulled the 4 wheel drive fuse #15 on the inside fuse panel. In doing so the 4 lights on the buttons went out but I noticed when I shifted the tranny with the fuse removed that the box around the PRND12 was not lit when this fuse was pulled. This was a 10A fuse.

I checked that and the fuse was fine. The other thing is I can put it into 4WD and it engages, so that cant be it.

Did you check all the fuses, including the ones I mentioned?
I really don't think it has anything to do with the trans.

I did check all the fuses. I dont think its the trans either - I just think that theres gotta be a fuse or some electrical short with the connection that goes to the transmission..
