Default Another Dual Exhaust ?

I would like to put a Dual Exhaust System on my Blazer. However, I'm thinning of either sticking with the Factory Size Piping or going with Two and a Half Size Piping. My question is wich would be better or doesn't it really matter? I mean I'm not going for performance here just a nice sound.

Thank you.

No difference to speak of in either category.

Just stick with a single catback system. Search this forum.

If you like how duals look, I would use 2" to 2.25" pipes, no larger so you keep exhaust velocity up.

are you going to bend your own pipes or are you looking to get a cat back system?

if you go with a pipe size that is to big then you will run into a low back pressure problem and it will act funny, it will miss and eventually burn the valves because of a "too lean" condition as the O2 sensors will try to correct the running issue! I just went through this with my exhaust and it sucked until i figured out what it was. I would suggest 2.5" at the cat and if you do duals go with 2.25-2.5" do not use 3" anywhere in the system as it is too big and will cause faults to happen sooner or later

you do know you'll get a nicer, "deeper" sound from a quality single system, right?

if you're only looking for sound quality, then buy an aftermarket muffler (Flowmaster, Borla, Magna Flow). you can even get them with a single i, dual out option if you really want that dual "look".

------> keep in mind, a longer (ie: bigger) muffler will give you more of a baritone/bass pitch, resulting in a more mello sound.

if you are dead set on have "true" duals, then i'd stick with a max pipe diameter of 2.25", just to keep everything flowing as correctly as possible.

true duals are impractical for the 4.3 especially if in your state you have inspections, because you will have to get another cat.

good point, never even took into consideration the whole inspection/etesting BS.

i'd like to see any Blazer run the dyno for the etest with duals. sure would be interesting.
