back pressure issue
hey guys just had my exhaust done and im now not running a muffler all it is is a y pipe with 2 1/4 in. piping from the front of the bed to the tips in the back im wondering if i will have back pressure issues the cat is still in place and i do have a k and N air filter on it that is supposed to be higher flow. will i have issues with burning valves or o2 sensors or anything or should i get a ram air intake or something any feedback is helpful thanks alot

RE: back pressure issue
Nope.
contrary to popular misbelief, you dont want backpressure. Backpressure is bad. Teh engine has to over come it to vent the burnt gases. What you want is scavenging. You want the exhaust manifolds/headers to pull the exhaust gases out of the engine. Once the exhaust gas gets past the y-pipe, the rest of the exhuast system has very little effect on it, unless its too restrictive or too big.

I don't see any problems with it. It will push the tourqe curve higher in the rpm range though.

Gut the cats. Yours, not the neighbors.

ok thanks fr the imput i did notice that i catch myself at alittle higher rpm when accelerating like normal instead of only 2000 rpm it goes to 2,300 rpm alot. who knows maybe i just like the sound hahahah. anyways sounds awsome everyone at school loves it i wish there was a way to explain it

RE: back pressure issue
Post it on Youtube or something. (in the truck accelerating, outside near the tail pipe reving the engine...)
